About Zara

Hi, I'm Zara. I've been belly dancing for some years now and I completely love it. Being half Egyptian I was surrounded by the music of and dance of Egypt for the whole of my childhood. Despite this it wasn’t until I was 17 that realised I was lacking a serious skill to dance like an Egyptian girl! When I returned to England from annual trip to Cairo I took my first dance class & never turned back.

Initially mentored by the inspirational dancer/teacher Terri Hardy, I went on to attend workshops/courses run by famous dancers including Farah Nasri, Melanie Norman,  Yasmina of Cairo, Joanna of Cairo and Shafeek Ibrahim. Also I set up ZARA'S ZOUK as I go so often to Egypt and love to costume shop!
